About BA. (Honors) Psychology


In today’s age, mental health has taken a place of great significance in the scope of healthcare and ensuring the welfare and livelihood of the people. Parul University’s Faculty of Arts offers a four-year honors degree program in Psychology that seeks to shape and develop effectively trained psychology resource persons who are equipped with the ability to promote and shape the psychological wellness of people of all ages. The program goes on to impart to the students a unique ability to relate with empathy and understand the needs and concerns of people facing various mental health-related issues. The faculty goes on to ensure the facilitation or effective channels of convenience which allow students to access real-time patients and engage with them on various levels. This is made possible through the University’s multi-specialty teaching hospital, Parul Sevashram Hospital, which has a dedicated psychiatry ward and a team of highly skilled trained psychology experts who go on to engage the students of psychology in various practical training sessions. As a way of providing students with real-time field experience, the faculty goes on to engage with various organizations and mental hospitals that go on to equip the psychology students with experiential learning concerning the various dimensions of psychology. Faculty is equipped with an elite league of faculties and teaching resources who nurture and guide students in the ways and strategize effective practicing of psychology and the vast pool of opportunities that come with it such as clinical psychology and co-operate psychology, psychiatry and another field which relate to the mental wellness of the people. Beyond the scope of the curriculum, the program goes on to shape the interpersonal and communication skills of the students in preparation for their careers in psychology.

Psychologists have a wide pool of career opportunities which allow them to explore various avenues of career opportunities either in the clinical field or within the corporate field. The program is an in-depth study of human behavior in relation to the cognitive senses. Students who pursue this program will get the chance to possess effective skills in analysis, listening and interpretation, which will be essential for the various career prospects.
