Laxita Sandilea, a rising star in women’s athletics, has clinched two international silver medals in the 1500-meter event at the prestigious Asian U20 Athletics Championship held in Dubai. Representing India, this Bachelors of Business Administration student of PU made a remarkable performance during the Athletics Championships brought honor and recognition to the institution. Over the years Laxita has expressed her passion and commitment for athletics through such achievements inspired by unwavering efforts through constant training and preparation.
In preparation for this 1,500 mtr, Laxita, placed a significant amount of effort in her training, with the support of her trainers and coaches. As part of her track record, she recently participated in the World University Games in China, she also made a groundbreaking victory in the U20 Asian Athletics Championship in Yecheon, South Korea and World University Games in Chengdu, China. PU has also been pivotal in supporting the young athlete, with funding for her championship, cash prizes of upto 1 lakh rupees and a monthly stipend of 12,000 rupees from the university, directly contributing to her nutrition and overall well-being.
The university is extremely proud of Laxita's achievements, which demonstrate its constant dedication and hard work. The sports quota policy, championed by the Department of Physical Education and Sports and through such schemes such student talents have gained a platform to shape and enhance their education.
